We originally built Escape to the Chateau ecommerce site using Magento 2 over 3 years ago. In that time we have continued to build custom functionality, upgrade and improve it.


They then came to us with the goal of improving branding on the website, the customer journey and site performance.

Our lead UX/UI designer worked closely with their brand manager to make sure the new designs included all the new brand elements they required as well all the improvements to the customer journey.


For the site performance goal they wanted to achieve it was the perfect opportunity to re-build using Hyvä.  Hyvä themes is a brand-new frontend for Magento 2 with the best Performance and Time to Market.

  • We re-coded an existing plugin to work with the new Hyvä theme.
  • Created several custom extensions to enhance the user experience.
  • Utilised the latest frontend technologies to improve site performance.


The Ecrubox team have been pivotal in the continued growth of the Chateau website, allowing us to access a wealth of experience and expertise, culminating in the launch of our new multi-region site, which has further propelled our domestic and international growth.
